FAQs

HOW DO I BOOK?

Click 'Book here'. This will take you to our booking portal. Select the date, and

which tour you would like to go on. You will be prompted to enter some details, afterwhich

you can pay via card using our secure system. You will be emailed a booking confirmation.

HOW DOES THE DAY RUN?

We would ask you to arrive at the Paper Boat on Loch Tay for 1000. There we will do a pre-tour brief, go through the plan for the day and the route that we will be taking. While we are doing this, we will provide a complimentary filter coffee or tea. Breakfast rolls and other drinks are available to buy. We will fit everyone to their bikes and explain how the pedal assist works. Then you’ll have a few minutes to have a practice ride and get used to the bike. Then we’ll aim to leave on the ride by 1030. We should be back by 1600, however there is no rush, this is your time to enjoy beautiful Highland Perthshire.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Comfortable clothing, sunglasses and sun cream if it’s going to be sunny. Trainers or similar footwear. We provide gloves, gilets and waterproof trousers if it is going to be chilly. You can use your pannier to store extra items, remember that we can sometimes get 4 seasons in 1 day here in Scotland.

WHATS INCLUDED IN THE £75 TOUR PRICE?

-Use of state of the art electric bike

-Helmet and high visibility jacket

-An experienced and professionally qualified guide.

-Tea or coffee on arrival.

-A delicious picnic lunch from The Paper Boat café, morning and afternoon snacks.

-Waterproof trousers, gloves and body warmer when necessary

-A pannier for transporting your lunch and possessions

WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED?

Any additional meals or refreshments en route. Gratuities

I WOULD LIKE TO GO ON A DIFFERENT TOUR TO THE ONE THAT IS SCHEDULED FOR THE DAY

If there are a minimum of 2 guests we can run whichever tour you would like to go on, as long as a specific tour has not already been requested by another guest.

I'M NOT SURE IF I'D BE ABLE TO MANAGE A WHOLE TOUR

If you are unsure about your ability to manage a particular tour we would recommend selecting an easier route (Strathtay full day or Drummond Hill half-day). Please ask us with any questions and we would be delighted to help.

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF GUESTS?

We can currently cater for three guests per tour, however with enough notice we can organise additional bikes up to a maximum of six.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL?

Within 7 days of the tour we will charge a £5 admin fee. Within 24 hours we regret we cannot offer a refund, but we will try our best to move your booking to a more suitable time.

WHAT IF I WANT TO TRY A FEW DIFFERENT TOURS?

If you would like to try several different tours, then we offer increasing discounts for each tour taken within a season. £75 for 1 tour, £145 for 2 tours or £205 for 3 tours, booked at the same time within 1 season.

I'M NOT AS FIT AS THE OTHER MEMBERS OF MY TOUR, CAN I STILL GO?

Yes! Our electric bikes have 4 power settings, so you can adjust the level of assistance provided, so everyone can go at the same pace. Our tours are also rated with effort levels from 1-easy to 5- strenuous, so this can help you decide which tour you’d like to go on.

DO YOU RUN IN ALL WEATHER?

We provide waterproofs, gloves and warm gilets to keep you warm and dry on cold days. If the weather is forecast to be especially bad, we will either not schedule a tour for that day or cancel with as much notice as possible/ move you to a different tour. Whether a tour goes ahead is down to the discretion of the ride leader.

CAN I BRING MY CHILDREN?

Due to UK law only children over the age of 14 are permitted to ride electric bicycles. However if you'd like to enjoy some relaxing time to yourselves, we can recommend Wee Adventures to take the kids off your hands and give them an amazing day out too. ( www.weeadventures.com )

I HAVE A DISABILITY CAN I STILL GO?

We endeavour to be as inclusive as possible, if you have any concerns please give us a call or email and we can go through your options and any adjustments we would be able to make.

DO I HAVE TO PEDAL?

Yes e-bikes only assist you when the pedals are turning. There is a thumb throttle to help you push the bike when on foot.

WHAT IF MY BATTERY RUNS OUT?

All our bikes are equipped with batteries that can run for 80+ flat miles. All our rides are less than 42 miles, so even accounting for hills, you’ll have plenty of power to spare.

HOW DO I GET TO YOU?

We are based at The Paper Boat, Pier Road, Kenmore, PH15 2HG.

Public transport is fairly limited; however, buses do come through the village. The nearest train station is in Pitlochry.

CAN I DO A PRIVATE TOUR OR A BESPOKE RIDE?

We can offer private guided tours to individuals, couples or groups. This could either be on one of our standard routes or adjusted to include any places that you’d like to visit. Please email us at info@ebiketourscotland.com with your requirements and we can put together a suitable package.

CAN I BRING MY OWN ELECTRIC BIKE?

If your bike is suitable; i.e. has a large enough battery for the route, is in good condition, and has a powerful enough motor. Then you can join a tour for a lower cost. Please advise at time of booking.

I'VE BEEN OUT ON A TOUR AND IT WAS GREAT, ARE THERE ANY OTHER E-BIKE TOURS YOU COULD RECOMMEND?

We can definitely recommend Cotswold Electric Bike Tours. It is a fair distance from here, but if you are down south, you will be treated to a great day out. www.cotswoldelectricbiketours.co.uk
